Helpful tips to keep your ARS working properly.
Know the components.
The ARS is comprised of three essential parts. To ensure you follow any instructions properly, make sure to familiarize yourself with each component.
Opening & Closing Instructions
ARSI (Standard)
The safest way to open the ARSI (Standard) while it’s on your finger is to slide a flat object underneath the ring (lock-side) and rotate clockwise to pop the lock open.
Additionally, you can simply pinch the top of your ring—bracing the bottom half with your thumb—and gently pull the lock open.
ARSII (Double-Hinge)
To open the ARSII properly, you will want to make sure you’re pulling on the bottom half of your ring, rather than the top. Similar to the ARSI (Standard), you may use your fingers to pull the bottom half, or stick a flat object like a popsicle stick underneath the bottom half of the ring and turn counterclockwise.
ARSIII (Extended Length)
To open the ARSIII you’ll follow the same procedure as the ARSI. Simply slide a flat object underneath the ring (lock-side) and turn counter clock-wise, or pinch the top half of your ring—bracing the bottom half with your thumb—and gently pull the lock open.
When you try to close an ARSIII—that opens 5-6 sizes—you will want to apply VERY LIGHT pressure on the center pin, as shown in this video. Gently hold the pin in place against your finger with your thumb, while you squeeze the ring closed. Once the ring is mostly closed, you can let go with your thumb and close the ring all the way. Doing this prevents the longer center pin from bowing outwards while squeezing the ring shut; reducing stress, and wear and tear on the component.
Avoid accidental damage!
We all know accidents happen, but we want to make sure you know all you need to avoid an unfortunate trip back to the store.
Apart from normal wear and tear, the next biggest risk to the ARS is a heavy hand.
Opening your ring should not cause any strain. If you’re struggling to open it, it may just be your approach. Pulling in the wrong directions, and fighting against the mechanics in play will put excess stress on the system, and may lead to damage.
Always make sure that you are pulling the ring open, following the curve of the ring. Never pull outwards!

Frequently asked questions.
Can I still clean my ring normally?
Yes!
Just like any piece of jewelry, cleaning it regularly will help to keep it looking fresh, and will ensure your ARS functions smoothly.
Opening your ring, and gently wiping the center pin with a microfiber cloth will help to remove surface level dirt or grime.
You may also use a small amount of dish detergent to gently wash the pin, and wipe dry with a clean paper towel.
What do I do if the lock gets harder to open? (feels a bit sticky)
Over time you may feel the system begin to stick a bit, making it slightly more difficult to open or close carefully.
Should that be the case, it’s an easy problem to solve yourself! We recommend applying a small amount of ordinary Vaseline to the center pin, and working it into the lock by opening & closing the ring a few times.
You may also use any other metal-safe lubricant to achieve the same result.
If I damage the ring, or ARS while cleaning does it void my warranty?

Any damage, or normal wear-tear is fully covered by our LIFETIME GUARANTEE!
Can I replace my current adjustable shank with the ARS?
Yes!
We do retrofits of all the big name adjustable rings & shanks.
